How to Set Up Tiered Pricing with GetYourGuide (GYG)

You can now sell your Bókun experiences with tiered pricing on GetYourGuide!

This article guides you through the requirements of how to set up your tiered pricing experiences in Bókun and GYG.

What is Tiered Pricing?

Tiered Pricing is a feature that allows you to offer different price points based on the number of participants in a booking. This integration enables your tiered pricing structure in Bókun to be automatically synchronized with your GetYourGuide products.

What is Tiered Pricing Used For?

Tiered pricing and the pricing sync helps you:

  • Offers more competitive pricing for larger groups
  • Automatically adjust prices based on booking size
  • Maintain consistent pricing across both Bókun and GetYourGuide platforms
  • Manage group bookings more efficiently

  • Tiered Pricing activated on your GetYourGuide account

Step-by-Step Setup Guide

  1. Activate Tiered Pricing on GetYourGuide
    • Refer to GYG’s documentation, Setting up Tiers over API, to manage the settings in the OTAs platform.
    • No activation is required in Bókun as the feature is automatically enabled.
  2. Set Up Your Pricing Tiers in GetYourGuide
    • Configure your pricing tiers in GetYourGuide's system.
    • Ensure your tiers follow GetYourGuide's structure requirements.
    • Make sure to maintain consistent tier ranges across all pricing categories.
  3. Match Your Pricing Tiers
    • Set up identical tiers in Bókun to match your GetYourGuide configuration.

Example of correct GYG tier alignment:

Adult: 1-10, 11-20, 21-30 participants

Child: 1-10, 11-20, 21-30 participants

Infant: 1-10, 11-20, 21-30 participants

Pricing in Bókun

  1. Pricing data is not returned if the tier minimum is more than one (1). That is, tiers must be priced from at least 1 person, and cannot be set at a minimum of 2 persons to book.
  2. Maintain Your Pricing Tiers
    • Tiers can be edited at any time on either Bókun or GYG, but must be manually updated on the other platform whenever a change is made.
    • Regularly verify that tiers match across both platforms.

✴️ Important Notes to remember:

  • Tiers must be identical across all pricing categories (Adult, Child, Infant, etc.).
  • If tiers are different for each category, adjust your pricing categories accordingly.
  • Any changes made to tiers must be updated in both Bókun and GetYourGuide.
  • The synchronization is automatic once properly configured.
