Tips for creating SEO unique to individual pages

Page URLs

An important element of SEO for specific pages is setting up a unique URL for each page.

Tips for Page URL’s:

  • Using descriptive words, i.e. city name, listed services/products
  • A dash (/) can further index: i.e. /tours-mountain-climbing, /our-tours
  • Set this once and don’t change it frequently

Site titles

A title tag tells both users and search engines what the topic of a particular page is.

Tips for a good site title:

  • Create a unique title for each page of the website
  • The title should effectively communicate the topic of the page's content and should be unique to that page. This helps Google know how the page is distinct from the others on your site.
  • Titles should be both short and informative. If the title is too long, Google will show only a portion of it in the search result.

Site description

A page's description gives Google and other search engines a summary of what the page is about.

Tips for site descriptions:

  • Remain within 160 characters
  • The description should inform and interest users at the same time
  • Having a different description meta tag for each page helps both users and search engines, especially in searches where users may bring up multiple pages on your domain

Site Keywords

Keywords are the terms that people search for while trying to find your site. The important part about keywords is that they match the content on the desktop site.
